What All Writers Should Remember

Hello everyone,

Lately I’ve been in the never ending process of querying agents and revising my query letter and manuscript. Then working on ideas for my new novel. In the midst of all that, my husband and I have been busy with other things: church, work, cats, and family.

Do you ever have one of those weeks or months or days when your dreams seem too far away? When you’re on the verge of giving up and throwing in the towel? I’ve had a blog post about this before.

But this time, what I mean is much different. Do you ever feel like the writing you do isn’t paying off? Lately I’m working on incorporating poems before every part one, part two, etc in my book, Fathers Secret Suitcase. Just to get them noticed for their worth. I’m thinking of writing a short story about my two cats, Lefty and Felix, and then finding somewhere to send it in to get recognized.

I wish I had more time for writing and that I knew more about agents and publishers. I wish I knew when my book would be published. I’d love to read Gods mind on this one.

But I’m reminded of a common fact: every writer in the world is suffering with the same circumstances. Each of us worries for the future in these situations, longs for more writing time, etc.

All you writers out there, may it be an immense comfort to you that we are all together on this, constantly shooting for that printed book in hand, our dreams true before us, and the next book we are typing away at 🙂 So know that we are here for you and suffering the same formalities. We’re all in this together! 🙂
